Going to the chapel of love…

posted by MBA    February 27th, 2012

Good Morning everyone.

We’d like to start this week by saying a huge congratulations to Rachel McCarthy and Nick Baldwin. They are getting married this week in Las Vegas and we’d like to wish them all the very best for the future. While she’s not been getting us all very jealous about her trip she’s been busy at the studio doing some amazing tattoos.

Matt’s been busy putting an interesting and stylish twist to his tattoos lately.

Leni started a koi shoulder piece, completed a portrait of a customer’s wife and did another session on this huge octopus sleeve. He also started this peacock feather, covering a tattoo that had been faded with laser removal.

Here are some sneak peeks at some large tattoos Jo’s working on at the moment, including a phoenix leg sleeve and a ship consisting entirely of geometric patternwork.

Rick did another session on the mechanical owl cover-up. The old tattoo has practically vanished. He also started a pinup half sleeve and a large dragon tattoo.

We’re still not sure how Andy comes up with his amazing patterns (!) but here are some awesome tattoos from the past week. (the ganesh was done elsewhere – Andy added the patternwork)

Mark finished the lion family and here is a piece of artwork he recently drew.

Glenn did a ram’s head piercing an anatomical heart, along with a cute little pair of angel wings.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s blog. We’ll see you next time.

He also started a wildlife themed backpiece and another session on this traditional owl.

Hello!

We are pleased to announce that on Monday the 10th October, Jo gave birth to a beautiful baby girl :) Both mother and baby are doing very well and Jo was a trooper, working right up until this Sunday’s All Female Tattoo Convention at Leamington Spa.

Rachel also attended the convention and won an award for Best small colour tattoo, for Glenn’s squirrel, as featured on the blog a little while ago. Here are some photos of the day, along with Jo’s baby bump and a sailor girl Rachel did.

Rachel continued with some nice pieces in the shop including another session on the Krishna backpiece. She started a princess themed tattoo which is going to be amazing :) and completed a poppy with a heart lock hanging from it. She also finished a cup of tea with some jammie dodgers! Rachel has some new jewelery for sale which she will be selling on her Etsy shop along with t-shirts and prints.

Jo has been super busy carrying on with some large pieces and starting a 9 hour (!) session for this amazing ship backpiece. She will be having some well deserved time off now :)

Leni continued his trend of dog portraits with this bulldog tribute and added some more pieces to this traditional sleeve

Mark started a tribute piece with lillies and script. the top of the arm will feature a portrait. He also added a rose to this sleeve of birds and has nearly finished a leg sleeve that he’s been working on for a while.

Andy has been really busy again and is getting close to finishing some really nice pieces. It’s good to have a few of his larger scale pieces to show you :)

posted by MBA    October 3rd, 2011

Good afternoon everyone. We’ve all been enjoying the heatwave here at MBA this week, with ice lollies and ice creams. We’ve also been doing a few tattoos… A cat themed week for Rachel with a bit of a tribute on Chris and also another on a customer’s leg. Rachel also did this teapot tattoo on Leah from Spear Tattoo.

Jo completed this amazing turtle tattoo and here’s a photo of Andy at London convention with the tarot painting that Jo did of him. She also started this phoenix tattoo.

Andy finished this geometric Hamsa Hand and completed another session on this sleeve. He also did a mendhi inspired dotwork piece on a shoulder and a customer wanted the symbols he has on his guitar fretboard.

Mark did another portrait, we couldn’t get a great photo of it but managed to get one good enough for you to see and wewill get a healed one soon. He also did this skull and lettering.

Leni started this sailor pin up.

Matt has been pretty busy finishing some bigger pieces these last couple of weeks. The first two are covering tattoos that have been lasered by us. The finished results are a perfect example of why we advise people to have a bit of laser before a cover up; you cant even see the old tattoo!

Chris was a busy boy getting tattooed last week as he also got this Guns N Roses themed piece by Tom – one of his final tattoos at the studio before he heads out Down Under. Here’s a photo of the gang on his leaving do.

A new start….

posted by MBA    July 25th, 2011

Hello everyone. We hope you’re enjoying our weekly blog posts.

We get asked a lot for cover ups. While it isn’t impossible to cover every tattoo, we will often advise the customer to have a few sessions of laser removal to fade the tattoo down enough to cover it successfully.  This will make a nicer tattoo for both client and artist, without having to compromise. Matt’s customer had a tribal piece on her shoulder and after 5 sessions of removal she was able to have this japanese kitsune in its place.

Matt also finished a really nice skull and japanese flowers tattoo.

Mark’s almost finished this sleeve – again, covering some lasered tribal, and did another session on this pegasus piece

Jo’s sent us some in progress photos of Matt’s stomach, which she’s been working on on her travels.  The colours are awesome. We’re looking forward to her return in a month or so!

Here’s a nice little swallow and a finished tiger head and lady tattoo by Rachel.

Andy did another session on this impressive geometric sleeve and a really cool dotwork pattern.

That’s all for this week. We’ll see you next Monday!

Tom’s had a week full of chests. He started this traditional eagle and finished this script.

Mark did this Pegasus tattoo, which is going to be the start of a Greek mythology sleeve. It’s looking pretty nice, so we thought we’d give you a bit of a preview.  He also started a bio – organic sleeve and some skulls and waves on a calf.
